The National Center for Telecommunications Technologies (NCTT) is a National ATE Center of Excellence and a division of Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). As an NSF ATE National Center since 1997, NCTT has led the development of work-relevant, industry-validated Information and Communications Technology (ICT) curriculum, standards, certifications, and curricular materials for use in educational programs spanning high school through community college and four-year college levels. Launched in 1997 as a collaborative effort of a select group of high schools, community colleges, baccalaureate institutions, ICT industry leaders, and educational agencies, the Center derives major fiscal support from the College and the NSF. In 2002, the collaborative became national in focus responding to the interest around the country for NCTT curriculum and content. This collaborative coalesced into NCTT's current Regional Partner structure. Also in 2002, NCTT began working with the National Skill Standards Board (NSSB), COMPTIA, NWCET, Cisco, Microsoft and others to develop a nationally validated set of ICT skill standards.
